International Business & Export Management Advanced Training (EMAT)
About EMAT
In times of an internationalizing world economy, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have more opportunities to conquer new markets. Moreover, the level of innovation, compliance with product parameters, and the high-quality products of German enterprises are often unrivaled. To leverage this advantage over often significantly larger competitors, SMEs require top personnel among export and sales managers specialized in international business.
In response to this demand, the International Business and Export Management Advanced Training (EMAT) aims to expand and refine existing export management knowledge by developing skills in areas such as market and customer analysis, export planning and management, international negotiation skills, intercultural competencies, export financing, customs issues, among others.
The EMAT training is open to international students and alumni, as well as to professionals from SMEs and startups.
Learning by Doing
To ensure the practical dimension of the project, we bring German innovative startups and small and medium-sized companies together with international students/alumni. The startup/SME delivers a business case in the fields of international trade and export management, which the group of participants uses as their case study during the training to gradually develop an International Business Model and Market Entry Plan.
Professionals participating in the training can work on their own business cases.
Duration
Training sessions will take place every Friday (between 15:00 and 18:15) and Saturday (between 9:00 and 12:15 or 9:00 and 16:30), starting on October 11, 2024.
Upon successful completion and presentation of the practical projects, EMAT participants will receive a certificate issued by Leipzig University and the SEPT Competence Center, signed by the partner company.
